SUMMARY
On the day of a nationwide terrorism drill, sixteen-year-old Indiana Lane learns that something terrible is about to happen. In the days that follow, citizens around the United States are forced into detention camps, electrified fencing restricts the rest, and an international police force launches assaults against anyone who resists their new rule of law.

Being someone who would rather be overlooked than noticed, Indiana manages to remain inconspicuous; but as she witnesses the appalling brutality of the militarized police overtaking the country, she finds her voice through seemingly inconsequential acts of clandestine resistance – acts that earn her the ire of the police and their dedication toward capturing her.

When she accidentally crosses paths with a pocket of resistance fighters, they decide she will help them – against her will. While one boy in particular works to both convince her and protect her, Indiana must determine whether she will escape them all or find the inner strength to join the resistance and take down those holding the entire country hostage.
